What we are looking for
Submit upto two narrative poems with, among others, pain and suffering as compulsory themes. A narrative poem is a piece of writing that tells a story in the poetic verse form. It has the basic elements of a story, which include: characters, conflict, plot, themes and point of view. Click here for a sample.
Be free to explore different formats and use various styles to spice up your work. The submission must be sent as one word document, typed in Times New Roman font, with a leading of 2.0 points (double-spaced) and must not exceed twelve A-4 size pages. Ensure you entitle your poems and provide a brief synopsis for each. The poems must be own composition. Plagiarised pieces, either in part or whole, will not be accepted. Your pieces must also be devoid of any racist language and elements of offensive romantic candour.
An author bio, not exceeding 30 words, is also welcome.
In the subject line of your email, write: Tales of a Tearful World: Narrative Poems (your preferred author name in brackets).
